About

Hi-hello, my name is Glenn Epps. My family calls me “G”.

Welcome to my website!

I’m a “G”ournalist who is inspired by stories that emphasize accountability, tackle misinformation and center resilience. Let’s learn us something good today, shall we?!

Early Life

I was born in Austin, TX in 1996.

I attended Camden Street Elementary School in Newark, NJ until I was about seven years old. My pre-kindergarten teacher was named Ms. King.

As a child I was a voracious reader. I enjoyed science-fiction, fantasy and classics and even enjoyed playing Bible Sword Drills with my bestfriends in Charlotte, NC.

When I was nine years old my mother and aunt gifted me my very first diary and encouraged me to write. I still keep a record today.

I was inspired to become a journalist when I was 11 years old and when I was 15 years old I joined my high school newspaper, The Karux, as a school reporter. In my senior year, I was made editor of The Karux.

Education

I launched my first radio show in 2014, as a freshman studying Journalism at Felician University, called Self-Portrait.

The next summer the show followed me as I hiked to Nagasaki with three friends. We recorded our experiences over six days backpacking trip for a radio special, through support from the Benjamin A. Gilman program. The episodes premiered on WRFC.

In 2016, I transferred to Ithaca College to study Journalism.

In 2018, I was awarded Interviewer of the Year by the Ithacan for the newspaper’s first bi-weekly interview-style podcast In My Own Words.

I graduated from Ithaca College in 2019.

Newsrooms

In 2020, I was named Interim Managing Editor of the Ithaca Times.

In 2021, I was named an Associate Editor for American City Business Journals.

In 2022, I was named a Regional Reporter for Advance Local Media.

Publications

In 2025, my poem “there are stars” debuted, inside Alumni Hall at Michigan State University, as a song composed by Katahj Copley and conducted by Keilah Ussi. That same year, I launched my first publication For the People, a zine and podcast for people.

Personal Life

I enjoy dancing with friends on Friday nights, camping and hiking loops on the Appalachian Trail and trialing new variations of my ultimate Morning Glory Oatmeal Raisin cookie recipe.

I spend most of my evenings beside my rust-colored canine companion Kurama watching the sun go down .
